12 Hole Ocarina Tabs has put free tablature for the 12-hole ocarina online since 2012. There are 63 songs, lessons and scales here, each laid out note by note with the finger chart drawn under it. Hover over a note, or tap it on a phone, and it plays, so you can hear a tune before your fingers have it.
There are no ads and nothing to sign up for. Every tab still reads as plain text with JavaScript turned off, and it prints clean on paper. When you want to write your own, the tablature editor builds a tab one click at a time and hands you a link to share it.
The sister site#
The 6-hole ocarina has its own home at 6holeOcarina.com. The two sites run the same player and the same editor, each fed its own instrument’s fingerings. How they are built, and why, is told once, on 6-hole’s About page and in its technical deep dive.
Who made this#
This site is built and kept up by James, the developer behind Digital Crunch. Song requests and tab corrections are welcome on the requests page or through the contact form.
