About I Am Trying to Be Like Jesus#
This is the song I learned to tab on. Working out I Am Trying to Be Like Jesus note by note, with the music player on lds.org for reference, taught me the method I went on to use for most of the other tabs on this site. It is also simply a good song to have running through my head. Janice Kapp Perry wrote it, and it is sung in Primary.
On the 12-hole ocarina it covers a wide stretch, from low Bb up to high D. Low Bb and Eb both need a small sub-hole closed, and high D opens a thumb hole, so it works nearly the whole instrument. A 6-hole ocarina has no way to reach that low Bb, which makes this one a 12-hole song.
