About Do As I’m Doing#
Do As I’m Doing is a follow-the-leader song, made for a room full of kids with their eyes on one person up front. It is traditional, and it lives in classrooms and at camps far more than in songbooks.
For the ocarina player, the interesting part is the key. The tab uses F sharp and a high C sharp, and with those two the notes form a complete D major scale, one octave of it. High C sharp and high D open the thumb holes on the 12-hole ocarina, so the top of the tune asks for a little care. The words appear under the notes, which helps if you are leading the singing yourself.
