About Mary Had a Little Lamb
#

When Thomas Edison tested his new phonograph in 1877, the first words he recorded were the opening of Mary Had a Little Lamb. The verse itself is credited to Sarah Josepha Hale, who published it in 1830, and it has been one of the first songs children learn ever since.

It is also one of the easiest things you can play on a 12-hole ocarina. The whole tab is three short lines and uses only three notes, C, D and E, right at the bottom of the main range. No sharps, no flats, no sub-holes and no thumb holes. If you have just finished the first lessons, this is a good place to put those notes to work.
