About Hedwig’s Theme#
John Williams wrote Hedwig’s Theme for the first Harry Potter film in 2001, and its twinkling opening on the celesta became the sound of the whole series. It sounds fantastic on a 12-hole ocarina, and it is one of the cooler melodies you can play that is still fairly easy.
The tab is four lines long. It moves between C and high D, and the one accidental is G#, which gives the tune its slightly spooky twist. Nothing here needs the small sub-holes. The high D at the top opens a thumb hole, so it is worth practicing the reach to it a few times on its own before you play the theme straight through.
