How to Play Major Scale on the 12 Hole Ocarina

About the Major Scale
#

This scale is worth learning by heart. I like to sit on the edge of the bathtub, where the tile gives a big echo, and just play it up and down. Even on its own it sounds good, and slowing down on a few notes of it is a fine way to make something expressive without any song at all.

The tab runs the whole natural range of a 12-hole ocarina, thirteen notes from low A to high F with no sharps or flats. The bottom two, low A and low B, need the small sub-holes covered, and a 6-hole cannot reach them. At the top, high D, high E and high F open the thumb holes, so this one scale works every part of the instrument.
