What Lesson 1 covers#
This is where the series began, back in the summer of 2012. The first note to learn is C, and Lesson 1 pairs it with D so you have something to move between from the very first minute. Two short lines of tab trade the two notes back and forth, twenty notes in all, which is plenty for a first sitting.
A 12-hole ocarina can actually play below C, but those low notes need the small sub-holes, and they can wait. Neither note here touches a sub-hole or a thumb hole, so all your attention can go to sealing each hole with the soft pad of the finger. If C sounds airy or a little high, a hole is leaking. Fix that now and every lesson after this one gets easier.
